Warren R. Bourgeois, III, M.D. has been in private practice as an orthopedic surgeon, with an emphasis on sports medicine, joint replacement (hip, knee, shoulder) and adult spinal disorders, including those that require surgery, since 1991. Dr. Bourgeois was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from Jesuit High School in 1974. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University in 1978. He then received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency from Tulane and Charity Hospital in 1987. During his residency, he spent time in training with Dr. James Andrews, Dr. Michael Brunet and Dr. Thomas Whitecloud. He has completed many training courses in the area of sports injuries of athletes, joint replacement techniques, and treatment of adult spinal conditions, including complex surgery of the spine. Following completion of his residency, Dr. Bourgeois served his country for the next 4 years as a staff orthopedic surgeon at US Airforce Medical Center Keesler in Biloxi, MS. He was deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm during that time.

While enjoying a family life with his wife and two children, as well as occasional local hunting and fishing, Dr. Bourgeois donates a considerable amount of time in covering local athletic events. One of his many volunteer activities includes serving as the team physician for Jesuit High School from 1991 - 2012. He still volunteers as necessary. He is also active with the New Orleans Medical Mission Services through which he has done volunteer work/surgery in Ecuador and Nicaragua. He spends 1 - 2 weeks a year on medical missions, typically performing surgeries such as total knee replacements, on patients who would otherwise not have the means to have the surgery performed. Most recently, in October 2012, he went to Guayaquil, Ecuador, where he performed seventeen (17) surgeries, most of which were knee replacements.

Warren R. Bourgeois, III, M.D. has been with Orthopedic Surgery Associates, now Audubon Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, since 1991. He has brought many new procedures to the practice over the years including arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, arthroscopic rotator cuff and labral repair, minimally invasive total hip and total knee replacements (including the Oxford and Stryker PKR) and Kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures.
